Ocean week 2

This week we're talking about FISH! Big fish, little fish, rainbow fish-- we LOVE fish!

We started off the week making a fun marshmellow treat. We dipped the marshmellows in blue icing, then rolled it into crushed graham crackers, and added a little fish. The kids ADORED doing this project (and eating it too!)

We painted blue paper with water to make and ocean! The kids really enjoyed this interactive activity.

What a FUN project this was. We took cups- added soap, paint and a little bit of water. We put a straw it in and told the kids to BLOW! The children had mountains of bubbles. We then laid a paper plate on top of the bubbles (which gives paper a bubble affect. We made them into blow fish.

This was our end product. It turned out really cool!

Some of the other projects we did included: Rainbow handprint fish, cd fish using glitter and beads, and of couse NEMO!

Ocean Week 1

WELCOME TO OCEAN MONTH
Our table pictures are adorable! The girls are mermaids...

The boys are scuba divers.

Our recess lineup pictures are crabs.

Week one we are spending our time on animals in the ocean. Day one we talked about seaturtles. This is a turtle made out of a bowl. The students painted it, and added strips of paper.

Our handprint and footprint lobster!

Our handprint crab

We marble painted a seahorse!

We colored a shark, and added teeth and eyes.

I asked the students "What do sharks do?" Some of their answers were hilarious!

We made t-shirts. We used puffy paint, painted the kids hands and feet and stamped them. The back says "Pinch me, I'm Cute"

Our octopus snack using ritz crackers, peanut butter, pretzel sticks and mini chocolate chips.

Our toilet paper octopus roll. The children painted and then added eyeballs.

Until next week ... FISH!

Luau week 3 & 4

Sorry for the delay in posts, our center relocates to a different site and I was on vacation (yay!). The Bumblebee's room finished up our Luau lesson plan, and this month (July) we've moved onto the Ocean (my favorite!)

We built a volcano, using paper mache. We basically crumbled up balls of paper, stacked them, used lots and lots of tape, shaped it into a volcano and paper mached it! Then we painted it. And expoded it! YAY!

The combination of vinegar, and baking soda make a  volcano explode!

Getting ready, putting our goggles on....

Adding the vinegar...

Explosion!!!!!!!!!!!!
